Transport And Transfers: Our nearest major international airport is Cairns which is 60kms from Port Douglas. There are several ways of reaching our doorstep: by local scheduled bus service, small express bus, hire car or limousine. We are more than happy to arrange airport transfers on your behalf. Prices vary and will be quoted on request.
Getting Around: Most visitors enjoy walking or riding bikes. At low tide it is possible to ride a bicycle on the water's edge for the length of Four Mile Beach. For those who wish to go further afield there are buses, rental cars from Mokes to Mercedes, limos and the local taxi service. We can organise both bike and car hire on your behalf, at no additional cost to you.
Weather: You will find that no matter when you visit Tropical North Queensland, the weather will be warm. In "winter" (June - October) temperatures range from an overnight low of 17°C to a high of 29°C. During the remainder of the year the temperatures range from 19°C to 32°C, so you can leave all those heavy jumpers and coats at home!
Eating Out: There are more than 50 eating establishments in and around Port Douglas offering everything from a cheap pub meal to five star gourmet dining. Cheaper eats include our quaint old pubs, The Courthouse and The Central, The Combined Club and the Port'o'Call, or step up a little in price and dine with a Mediterranean touch at Zeus or one of the marina restaurants, Fiorellis or La Marina; try the international fare at High Tide; enjoy authentic tastes of Thai at Star of Siam or dine at On the Inlet and have fresh seafood right at the wharf. Check out the scene at Salsa Bar, Iron Bar or Michaelangelos - the list goes on. These are just some of the eating pleasures awaiting you at Port Douglas.
Eating In: Feel like a night at home? Don't feel like cooking? Just call one of our home delivery restaurants and have dinner brought right to your door. Fare include Chinese, Thai, Italian and, of course, pizza.
Night Life: Not everyone wants a quiet holiday and for those who wish to party on into the early hours we have 'Fluids' open until 5am with music and live bands.
Banks: There are six banks in Port Douglas all with automatic teller machines. EFTPOS is available at the supermarket.
Currency Exchange: Available at most banks and at Inforex at Marina Mirage.
Churches: In the Mossman / Port Douglas area we have Anglican, Catholic, Uniting, Baptist and Christian Churches.
