Q: Is it cheaper to book on line?

A: Book direct and save! By booking through our website or giving us a call you will save money, we love to chat to guests, we will match (or sometimes offer something better depending on availability) any online rate.

Q: How big are your apartments?

A: Please look at the individual apartment type and floor plan for a detailed description and details of size.

Q: Can you organize an airport transfer?

A: We are very happy to organize your arrival and departure transfers, you will be met in the arrivals hall at Cairns airport, we are also able to arrange transfers from the train station, The Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns or another hotel in Cairns. The driver will bring you to Port Douglas with one stop on the way in Palm Cove, some other companies will stop at several locations on the way to Port Douglas.

Q: Should I book my tours before I arrive?

A: There are a huge selection of tours available to book, please ask us for advice, we will recommend tours to suit your requirements and expectations. If you have several day with us we recommend you book your tours once you are here, we will then be able to look at the weather forecast for the best day if you are going to visit the amazing Great Barrier Reef. Among the fantastic selection of tours available we can book tour to The Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, River Cruise, Fishing Trip, Hot Air Balloon Ride, Golf, Horse Ride on the Beach, Golf, White water rafting plus there are many more incredible things to do here.

Q: Do I need to bring linen?

A: All bedding and towels are included in our apartments, for guest who stay 7 or more nights the bedding and towels are changed half way through your stay.

Q: Are beach towels included?

A: We are very pleased to offer complimentary beach towels to our guests for use by the pool and for days out.

Q: Do you offer Wi-Fi?

A: We are very pleased to be able to offer complimentary Wi-Fi to all our guests, in addition to complimentary Wi-Fi we also have a computer available for guests use.

Q: Will I need a car while I’m staying at The Port Douglas Queenslander?

A: We are within walking distance of the supermarket, shops, restaurants, Reef Marina and Four Mile beach, a car is not essential – many guests rent a bike or hire a car for a few days while in Port Douglas. If you would like to visit Atherton and the tablelands during your stay then a car is great.

Q: What time is check in?

A: Check in is from 2:00pm

Q: What time do I need to vacate my room?

A: Check out is by 10:00am, if you have a late flight you are welcome to relax by the pool or we will look after your luggage until your transfer to the airport arrives.

Q: Is an early check in available?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to offer early check-ins to guests, you are welcome to use the pool until your room is ready or we will look after your luggage until your room is ready if you would like to explore Port Douglas.

Q: Is there a chemist nearby?

A: There are 2 chemists n Macrossan Street, 700 meters from The Port Douglas Queenslander

Q: What is your cancelation policy?

A: We strongly recommend travel insurance when booking a holiday.

Cancellations made more than 28 days before arrival will be fully refunded.

Cancellations made 14 – 28 days before arrival will be charged one nights accommodation

Cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival will be charged in full.

Q: How far is the beach from The Queenslander?

A:  The beach is 550 meters away and you’ll be swimming between the flags.

Q: I can’t always get to the phone during office hours, do you take after hour calls?

A: Please phone and leave a message or send us an email, we check our messages and emails regularly and will get back to you.

Q: I can’t see the dates I’d like to travel does this mean it’s not available?

A: Not always, it’s not always possible to have every combination of offer online, please give us a call and we may be able to help you.

Q: How often are the rooms serviced?

A: All our apartments are fully self-catering, for stays in excess of 7 nights you will receive a mid-stay service. During this service all the linen is replaced, you are able to launder your own linen at any time during your stay as every apartment has laundry facilities.

Q: Do you offer babysitting facilities?

A: We do not offer babysitting facilities but there are several people locally who offer this service.

Q: What TV channels do you offer?

A: All apartments have the range of free to air channels plus the benefit of  their own Foxtel box which gives you the option to watch sky news, sky business news, sky news weather, CNN, fox sports 1, 2, 3, fox sport news, euro sport, euro sport news, fox footy, nickelodeon, nick jr., romance movies, comedy movies, action movies, lifestyle, fox8, SoHo, arena, TV hits, 111greats, BBC first, national geographic, Discovery channel, history, crime + investigation, max music, cmc, V

Q: Do you have disabled facilities?

A: We do not have apartments specifically for disable guests, our garden studios are located on the ground floor with easily accessible patio doors and a walk in shower. Our other apartments are located on the first and second floor which are accessed by stairs.

Q: Can I smoke at The Port Douglas Queenslander?

A: All our apartments and public areas are non-smoking, we have a designated smoking area for guests to use.

Q: Is there secure car parking?

A: We offer complimentary undercover car parking for guests to use at the back of the building, guests are welcome to use any available parking bay.

Q: What time is the pool open?

A: The pool and Barbecue area are open for guests to enjoy from 8:00am – 10:00pm

Q: do you have a lift?

A: The Queenslander is a 3 story building – ground floor, first floor, second floor, like many buildings in Port Douglas we have no lift.

Q: Do your provide amenities?

A: On arrival all apartments are supplied with a range of teas, coffee, sugar, milk, toiletries, detergent for dishwashing, laundry and the dishwasher, if you require additional items these are easily obtained from the local supermarket.

Q: Are the apartments air conditioned?

A: All our apartments have air-conditioning to the living areas and ceiling fans in all rooms

Q: Does every apartment have a balcony?

A: All of our apartments have either a balcony or the garden studios have a patio overlooking the gardens.

Q: Does every apartment have a kitchen?

A: All of our apartments have a full kitchen with full size fridge, oven 4 burner stove top and a dishwasher except the studios that have no dishwasher. The kitchens are equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, bowls, placemats, sauce pans and fry pan. Other useful items include coffee machine & teapot.

Q: Does every apartment have a laundry?

A: Yes all our apartments have a washing machine and dryer a clothes rack is also provided in every apartment.

Q: Do you provide a hair dryer?

A: Yes every apartment has a hair dryer

Q: How many bathrooms does the 2 bedroom apartment have?

A: Please look at the individual apartment types for a full description, the standard 2 bedroom apartment and the 2 bedroom family suite have one bathroom and the 2 bedroom/2bathroom apartment has an en-suite bathroom and a family bathroom.

Q: Are you able to help us celebrate a special occasion?

A: Yes! Please let us know if you are celebrating a special occasion, we are able to recommend restaurants, days out or organize chocolates, champagne or a fresh fruit platter. Just let us know what you would like and we will help make it happen.
