The Daintree Rainforest is one of the most diverse and beautiful examples of Mother Nature’s work in the world and is the oldest living rainforest.
The Daintree rainforest is a World Heritage Listed area and contains the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatened with near extinction, anywhere in the world.
Vegetation is primarily tropical rainforest, but also includes open eucalypt forest, wetlands and mangrove forests.

Choose from a half day, full day, jungle surfing, canopy walk, swim at a beautiful waterfall, The Bloomfield track – there is a tour to suite everyone’s interests and timescale.

Self-drive to the Daintree

We have a selection of maps and information available for guests who would like to explore the Daintree Rainforest independently, please ask at reception for information, we also have an audio guide which will give guests information about the rainforest and its history.

For guests who are going to explore this incredible tropical rainforest independently please ask about the dreamtime walk at Mossman Gorge, Jungle surfing, cruises on the Daintree River and the aerial walkways at Daintree Discovery Centre.

Daintree Discovery Morning Tour – small groups of 8

You will be collected from The Port Douglas Queenslander at 7.30am and go to Daintree village where you will be able to enjoy an early morning river cruise on the upper Daintree and see some of the incredible wildlife and vegetation this area has to offer visitors – look out for the crocs, snakes and birds, following the river cruise morning tea is served. Once you have finished your scones, jam & cream served with tea and coffee you will travel into the rainforest for a swim at the beautiful Cassowary Falls. Return to The Port Douglas Queenslander by 12:30

Daintree Discovery Afternoon Tour

Small groups of 8

You will be collected from The Port Douglas Queenslander at 1:15pm and then enjoy the scenic drive to Daintree village where you will be able to enjoy a one hour cruise on the lower Daintree and see some of the incredible wildlife and vegetation this area has to offer visitors – look out for the crocs, snakes and birds. Afternoon tea is served at the Mossman Visitor Centre. You will then be able to enjoy an interpretive walk through the rainforest and take the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters of the Gorge surrounded by the stunning rainforest. Return to The Port Douglas Queenslander by 5:30pm

You will be collected from the Port Douglas Queenslander at 7:00am and start your amazing full day tour exploring the truly unique Daintree rainforest by foot and surfing through the canopy of some of the amazing trees.
During the day sightings of Cassowary, Forest Dragons and even Buff Breasted Paradise Kingfishers is highly possible during as you explore various rainforest boardwalks and beaches including Cape Tribulation, where in 1770 Captain Cook began having his ‘trials and tribulations’.
